About

My Story

I am a contemporary artist living in Richmond, Virginia. My work is influenced by my travels in the Far East as a child. My use of bold but feminine colors, coupled with a touch of gold leaf bring a delicate nature to my abstract and figurative paintings.

I’ve been painting for over 20 years, first as a textile artist and ceramicist, before emerging as an abstract painter. I begin many of my paintings by layering rich colors using random brush strokes. Using various tools, I begin the process of pushing and pulling the paint, scraping through the layers and later, making more deliberate marks, editing out what is no longer needed. This process allows the history of the many layers to reveal themselves on my canvases.
